The purpose of the Discover Scuba experience is to introduce to the nondiving public to diving in a safe, controlled, enjoyable session and to dispell myths about diving. Discover Scuba provides non divers with an opportunity to actually scuba dive in the safe confines of a swimming pool. The experience presents diving in a pleasant and exciting way. By instilling feelings of comfort and safety, and a sense of belonging, Discover Scuba helps overcome the common misconceptions held about scuba diving.

PADI is the largest diving organisation in the world and is growing all the time. All PADI certification is recognised in over 194 countries worldwide, which makes it a MUST for everyone wishing to dive abroad to have
Who Can Take Part?
Anyone from the gaes of 10 and above can take part. For children aged 8-10 we have got the PADI Bubblemaker Course which allows them to have a chance to experience the underwater world.
What Is Involved In Discover Scuba?
When you come to the shop you will fill in some paperwork, then we will get you to watch a video. After that we will go and have some FUN!!! Once in the water the instructor will show you how to don and adjust the equipment, then will take you for a swim. If after a while you feel confident in the water, the Instructor can take you through some of the skills which you will do on the PADI Openwater Course. Or if you feel that you would just like to swim around, thats fine, its up to you.
BUBBLEMAKER
The PADI Bubblemaker course is designed for children who want to dive like their parents. the course is open for all children aged 8-10. It is the same as the Discover Scuba, where you will fill out paperwork and watch a video, then go to the pool, but with the PADI Bubblemaker Course the children will get a colourful certificate and card to congratulate them in completing a PADI Bubblemaker Course to show to their friends.
What Do You Need To Bring?
You done need to bring a thing, except for yourself, a swimming costume and a t-shirt, we provide everything else, masks, fins, and SCUBA equipment. If you have your own mask you may bring this with you to use. For the Bubblemakers you will need to bring your parents.

We run Discover Scuba and Bubblemaker courses every Wednesday & Thursday night. Give the shop a call to organise the night you wish to do it on, that will best suit your timetable.

What Is The Next Step After This?
Once you have completed your Discover Scuba the next step is the PADI Openwater Diver course. This teaches you the basics of Scuba Diving and upon certification enables you to sample the delights of the underwater world in almost any country around the world. The amount of time required to complete the course is based on class size, student aptitude, logistical considerations and student performance.
The Course Consists Of 14 Sessions:
5 Classroom Sessions
This is where you will learn the theory behind diving. You will read a manual, watch a quick video and be given a lecture by an Instructor. Then after each classroom session we will go to the pool.
5 Confined Water Sessions
This is where you will learn the necessary skills needed to be able to go into the Open Water.
4 Openwater Dives
This is where everything you have learnt in the classroom and the pool gets put into practice over the 4 dives. These will take place in the Sea or Fresh Water.
