Oban

The town of Oban is set in a tree-fringed bay on the west coast of Scotland, in what is without doubt the best natural harbour in the Western Highlands. It came of age in the last century, and this is reflected in the town's imposing Victorian frontage, featuring excellent hotels and a wide range of shops.

Oban is a major fishing port, and is also a popular diving centre, the nearby wreck of the Breda proving a major attraction for both novice and experienced divers. The town's proximity to the sea, in fact, means that it is also popular with visiting yachtsmen and cruise liners, and its role as a ferry terminal to Mull and a major fishing port means that there's always something happening on the waterfront.
For those of you who can't wait for the summer to get wet, we are currently running weekend trips to Oban for around £30 per night B&B plus dinner in a 3 Star hotel. Leaving Friday morning and returning Sunday evening, this gives enough time to do the open water section of any course or several pleasure dives. The diving is arranged from Oban with the option of chartering a boat. We have trips on the following dates:
