Course Standards
The PADI Rescue Diver Course is an important and crucial step in expanding your knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level. The PADI Rescue course is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership training, i.e.: Divemaster, Assistant Instructor.
The course is demanding, though realistic in its conduct, content and approach. Interaction, discussion, variety and flexibility are stressed during skill training. Classroom instruction will stress the application of the information to the needs of students and varying environments.
Through this course you will come to appreciate and understand the importance such training has on the safety of others and on the diving industry as a whole. Although the course is designed to be enjoyable, the nature and context in which such training may be used is quite serious, and as in the training in similar fields of emergency care, the primary objection of this course is to prevent the need for use of rescue skills.

To qualify for the PADI Rescue Diver Course an individual must:
  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Openwater Diver or equivalent rating.
