For those of us that feel restricted by the depth and time limits of recreational scuba diving, PADI in Conjuction with DSAT (Diving Science and Technology) have developed a range of technical courses which extend recreational limits using systems and procedures developed for commercial divers
The TECREC Courses which we offer are:
TEC REC Level I: Apprentice TEC Diver
TEC REC Level II: TEC Deep Diver
TEC TRI-Mix Diver
DSAT Gas Blender
TEC REC Level I: Apprentice TEC Diver
An entry level technical course. You'll learn to make gas switchs, extended no-decommpression dives using air and enriched air to 40m/130 ft. As well as Equipment considerations and emergency procedures.
Prerequisites:
You must be 18 years old and PADI Advanced or equivalent, PADI Enriched Air Diver or Equivalent and PADI Deep or Equivalent, with a min. of 50 dives (of which 10 EANx, 15>18m, 6>30m)
TEC REC Level II: TEC Deep Diver
This course delves deeper into the world of technical diving. You'll learn to conduct gas-switch extended no-decompression dives, decompression dives and accelerated decompression dives using air and enriched air to a depth of 50m/165ft. As well as understanding the hazards and risks of techncal diveing and how to handle technical diving emergencies.
Prerequisites:
As for Level I plus PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent and a min. of 100 logged dives (of which 20 EANx, 25>18m, 15> 30m)
TEC TRI-Mix Diver

This course takes you to the outer edges of technical deep diving and is not for the timid. It is intended to extend the depth range available to technical divers trained and qualified to use air, enriched air and oxygen for techncal decompression dives to a depth of 75m/240ft, using tri-mix (helium, oxygen and nitrogen).
The equipment considerations are extensive and the knowledge of theory, planning and procedures thorough.
Prerequisites:
You must be PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent with proof of CPR Training in last 2 years and PADI Tec Deep Diver or equivalent.
DSAT Gas Blender
This course enables you, the Technical diver to blend your own gas mixtures. You'll learn the physical properties of oxygen, it's associated handling requirements and how to obtain the desired enriched air nitrox mix using various methods.
Prerequisites:
You must be 18 years old and a PADI eniriched Air Diver or equivalent.
