The PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course is designed for divers seeking to extend their diving season or explore cooler water environments while staying warm and comfortable. This specialty course provides the necessary skills and knowledge to safely use and enjoy dry suit diving, opening up a whole new realm of diving opportunities in colder waters.

Course Structure

The course is structured to introduce divers to the unique aspects of dry suit diving, with a focus on equipment considerations, diving techniques, and handling potential challenges. It combines knowledge development with practical application in confined and open water settings.

eLearning

The course will start with eLearning that covers the principles of dry suit diving. Topics include types of dry suits, dry suit maintenance, buoyancy control using a dry suit, and how to manage potential issues.

Confined Water Dive

Before heading to open water, divers will participate in a confined water dive to practice putting on and taking off the dry suit, mastering buoyancy control, and getting accustomed to the feeling of diving in a dry suit. This controlled environment allows for focused skill development and instructor feedback.

Open Water Dives

The course culminates in two open water dives, where participants apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting. During these dives, divers will demonstrate their ability to effectively use a dry suit, manage buoyancy, and deal with any issues that may arise, all under the guidance of a PADI instructor.

Certification

Upon completing the course, divers will earn the PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty certification, enabling them to plan and execute dives in colder water environments using a dry suit. This certification not only enhances your comfort and extends your diving season but also broadens the range of diving sites you can explore.
