Course Aims and Structure

Participants will begin with a knowledge development session that covers the fundamentals of search and recovery operations. This includes learning about search patterns, the use of lift bags, and the legal considerations surrounding the recovery of underwater objects. Understanding the principles behind locating objects and safely bringing them to the surface is crucial for any search and recovery diver.

 

Practical Application

The practical component of the course involves conducting a series of search and recovery dives, where divers will apply and refine their skills. These dives will teach participants to:

  • Use various search patterns using natural navigation and compasses.
  • Safely lift objects using lift bags and other recovery methods.
  • Employ effective search techniques in different underwater environments.
  • Manage potential problems that can arise during search and recovery operations.
